Those who are misguided in their ideology, theology and morality are still a tiny minority of humanity. Those who acknowledge reason as the only logical determining factor in how we should live our lives, may call themselves philosophically astute.

Sacrificial slaughter might have had some rationale when less was known about the weather, but taking a life to advance some cause is just wrong. If I kill A to get B, then C is right to kill me to avenge A, and get D…and so it would go on. Tit-for-tat killings ad infinitum. Belfast is not the only place that has had its belly full of ‘dying for the cause’.
