Donegal beckons

Finally we are ready to get the coach to Donegal. Groceries packed, sun lotion, jumpers, raincoats, whisky and the Sunday papers. Yesterday’s planned barbecue was rained off, so we have plenty of burgers, ribs and sausages to take with us. Liam is in charge of music and DVDs. I picked up some treasure on the Lisburn Road the other day in a charity shop. A wooden puzzle and the movie Lincoln for £3.50. Cards or backgammon …decisions, decisions. I tried writing this blog on my smartphone, but gave up in frustration – the pages only loaded very s  l   o   w  l   y. Liam’s laptop is much less frustrating. It’s a shame that my brother, Andrew, didn’t have long enough to come with us to Donegal, but luckily my sister-in-law, Rosemary will have time to savour the stillness and beauty of the place. Hopefully there will be other opportunities for all of us to have a reunion somewhere truly awesome.
