Life has returned to what passes for normal in our house. The leak in the flat roof is still dripping, but only a bit, my wife is in work setting up her classroom for the start of term, the youngster is going in with her to lend a hand and the invalid miscreant is playing games on his Playstation and getting room service.
I went in search of treasure at lunchtime and came back with a compilation CD and Jamie Oliver’s The Naked Chef. My £4 is money well spent on Cancer Research, and is what I would pay for a pint of Guinness.
The sun is shining and all is pretty much ok with the world. The Chinese economy and Muslim fundamentalism do not give me sleepless nights. British politics is as bi-polar as usual and Northern Ireland gave up on its elected representatives ages ago.
