We have journeyed to the cradle of democracy (England) where grey skies meet men in suits and the women in power. The glottal stop is ‘in’ and the beer is crafted.

Surbiton is still a busy place, both on the pavement and on the highway. Shopping is easy and so me and the miscreant headed for our favourite pub after the supermarket. Cider is on tap at the Antelope in at least 5 varieties from cloudy to clear, and all strongish. Our tongues were loosened and the occasion pleasantly convivial

Tomorrow’s lunch is booked for Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant in Kingston. It would be nice if they could find a chair with arms for mum, but we are sceptical about the prospects.
