There may be the odd person who has noticed a slight change in my demeanour. There is an edginess that indicates all is not zen. Could it be the approach of another academic year and a huge surge in the workload? No, it is a compulsion both irrational and yet somehow sustaining, the jenga has got me.

To the uninitiated this game with wooden bricks for players aged 5 and older might appear juvenile. But once you have played jenga in the true spirit of the game, it becomes obvious how important the concept of jenga is to philosophy.

Hinduism has three gods, Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu who are responsible for the creation, upkeep and destruction of the world. Shiva’s role is to destroy the world in order to re-create it, the original jenga master.
